ABOUT DRIVE MY CAR — THE ULTIMATE BEATLES TRIBUTE EXPERIENCE

DRIVE MY CAR is a musical-theatrical Beatles and John Lennon tribute production that recreates the optimism, excitement, musicianship and humor of the 1960s — with sound-alike Beatles vocals, striking look-alike visuals, authentic costumes, virtuoso musicianship and spontaneous, character-driven banter.

Featuring exceptional musicians capable of performing Beatles material many tribute bands simply cannot touch, DRIVE MY CAR can be presented as a high-energy concert experience or expanded into a more theatrical production. “Paul” captures McCartney’s soaring vocals and musicianship, while “George” delivers Harrison’s distinctive guitar work and vocal character.

At the center is Lenn Johnston as John Lennon, combining an uncanny visual and vocal resemblance with acting, comedy and audience interaction to create something beyond the conventional tribute-band experience. A fifth musician expands the traditional four-piece lineup, bringing the essential keyboard and orchestral textures associated with George Martin and Billy Preston and allowing the band to authentically perform more ambitious Beatles material.

And when “John Lennon” appears to have somehow stepped out of another time and onto the stage, DRIVE MY CAR adds an element few Beatles tributes can offer: the feeling that, just for an evening, the 1960s might actually be happening again.
